Laura Santamaria
Laura Santamaria (she/her), is a Colombian-American soprano from West Palm Beach, FL currently based in Boston, MA.
Last season, she was an Emerging Artist with Boston Lyric Opera, where she appeared in Macbeth, Vanessa, and The Daughter of the Regiment. She also performed the role of Marie in the company’s workshop and tour production.
She will join the prestigious Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera in the Fall.
This summer, Laura joins the Glimmerglass Festival as a Resident Artist, where she will perform the role of Lucy in Fellow Travelers by Gregory Spears.
Laura is a proud alumna of the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she earned both her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and Master of Music in Opera Performance. She currently studies under the tutelage of Dr. Rebecca Folsom.
Laura is extremely passionate about her Latin-American culture and enjoys singing art songs by Latin-American composers such as Jaime Leon Ferro, Maria Grever, and Alberto Ginastera.
